Pat Quaid -- Teaching Pastor
Pat grew up in Mountain View, California where he graduated from Mountain High School in 1995. He traveled east to Decorah, Iowa and earned a B.A. in Psychology and minored in English and Greek from Luther College in 1999. Upon graduating, Pat pursued the call to ordained ministry and enrolled at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, where he received a Master of Divinity in 2003. Pat while a student at seminary served as intern at Lutheran Church of Hope in 2002.

In 2003, Pat was called to Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, Iowa. Pat serves as a teaching pastor and oversees two areas of ministry: care ministry and local and global missions. Pat is thrilled to work at Hope and finds inspiration in Jesus’ words at the end of Matthew 28, “therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

As a teaching pastor at Hope, Pat has surrounded himself with a gifted group of staff and volunteer leaders. Doing church in teams and centered in prayer, Hope has built long lasting relationships with 22 non-profits locally and globally, launched a package-feeding program that packaged recently over 4 million meals, coordinated the digging of 61 wells in Ghana, Africa, and has helped with the building and mobilization of lay members in the areas of care, recovery and support.

Recently, Pat was listed as an “honored member” of Cambridge Who’s Who. He is a current board member for Riverside Bible Camp in Story City, IA, and, recently served on the ELCA Southeastern Iowa Synod Council.

In Pat’s free time he enjoys participating and watching sports.  Growing up in the Bay Area he loves watching the Forty-Niners and SF Giants.  Pat is a former marathon runner, loves hunting and fishing, and going for hikes with his family.  Pat is married to a loving and beautiful gal, Missy, since 2003, and they have two sons.  Since marrying his lovely wife, Pat has become a fan of the “Big Red” or “Huskers” of Lincoln, Nebraska.  “Go big red!”
