Lela Griffin - Pastors’ Assistant
Lela is the assistant to pastors Pat Quaid, Caroline Boehnke-Becker and Merv Thompson. She also assists with ACS, the church's database, and other office duties. Lela helps with Care Ministry, support groups, prayer bulletin, and hospital visitation listing. Lela first started at Hope as a volunteer in the office in 1998 and became a part of the staff in May of 2002. Lela grew up in Albia, Iowa, attending the E.U.B. (now Methodist) church. Lela, her husband Steve, and their children became Lutherans in 1982 while living in College Station, Texas. She and Steve are the facilitators for Open Hearts, one of Hope’s support groups. In her time away from the office, she is a huge fan of Iowa State women's basketball, and enjoys visiting her grown sons and two grandchildren. |
