Adult Ministry Women’s Coordinator

Jaci Gordon - Adult Ministry Women’s Coordinator

When chronic health problems developed in Jaci’s life, she recognized her need to have a personal relationship with God. As God began to transform her life, Jaci ended a career in medical technology, returned to graduate school, and earned a Master’s degree in counseling from Drake University, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Walden University. Jaci worked as a Christian therapist for sixteen years, specializing in a variety of women’s issues.

In 2002, Jaci and her husband moved to Atlanta, Georgia, but one year later they were back, living in West Des Moines. Friends, knowing they were looking for a church, suggested they check out Hope. They came, felt the Spirit’s presence, and loved the enthusiasm and the passion for Christ the congregation displayed. Jaci’s desire for serving women led to her participation in several women’s activities, including leading the women’s mentoring program, teaching classes, and serving on the women’s leadership team.

Jaci had retired from her counseling position in 2006, so when the Women’s Ministry Coordinator position became available, Jaci, believing that God was leading her, applied for the position. She now has the privilege of serving the women of Hope in this new capacity. "I’m so excited to be able to meet so many new women at Hope, helping them discover ways they can get connected and involved, as well as deepen their relationship with Christ through our Bible studies and classes we offer in Women's Ministry."
