What is GraceSpace - Healing Prayer Service?
Lutheran Church of Hope's GraceSpace - Healing Prayer Service is held the 2nd and 4th Mondays of every month in the Chapel. The service starts at 6:30 pm with worship, a message and communion. The remainder of the service is then available for attendees to receive soaking prayer, anointing of oil and healing prayer.
How can I serve?
There are three prayer opportunities available during the service:
Intercessory Prayer (The Watch)
Intercessory prayer is the act of praying on behalf of others. At the Healing Prayer Service, The Watch Team prays for the service, musicians, the speaker, the attendees, for the Holy Spirit's presence and whatever else God reveals.
Team members do not pray with others - they pray silently by themselves. They immerse this service in prayer so even if someone just sits in the service, they receive prayer. Team members are encouraged to attend the service but if that is not possibly, they are asked to pray off-site for the service.
This is an excellent opportunity for those who are new to prayer or not comfortable praying out loud. It is also a great place to serve if you have the gift of Intercessory Prayer.
Soaking Prayer (Soaking Prayer Team)
Soaking prayer is praying over someone silently and without specifically asking for a prayer request. The aim is to be still in God's presence. Attendees are asked to sit in a designated area of the chapel so the Soaking team members can stand behind them and pray silently for them. Team members listen for God's Word and act as a vessel for God's love. This is a way to allow God time to work His will and speak to the prayee.
One-on-One Prayer (Healing Team)
One-on-one prayer is when an attendee verbally states their prayer requests before another, then the Healing Prayer team member takes those requests to God on behalf of the attendee. The Healing Prayer team stands at designated areas in the chapel. The team members listen to the need and present the request to God. It is a great avenue of prayer for experienced pray-ers.
How do I get started?
