How kids can get involved in Missions through CIA

What is Christ In Action (CIA)?
Christ In Action is a group of kids and their families who meet quarterly to share the love of Jesus Christ with the local and world community.

Upcoming mission projects

In September, CIA is teaming with Westwind church to get started volunteering for Meals from the Heartland, the largest humanitarian food packaging in the country. Last year this effort drew over 12,000 volunteers to Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines, where more than 4 million meals were packaged and shipped to Haiti and other developing countries.

Our date to package food as a team is Sunday, Sept 6th from 5:30-7:30. Let's show Jesus' love for the world by serving together! This is a great way to get your kids, age 6 and up involved in helping others as well. To register visit www.mealsfromtheheartland.org  after registering and making a pledge visit http://package.mealsfromtheheartland.org and sign up for Sunday, Sept. 6 from 5:30-7:30. There are 110 volunteers needed for that slot but it fills up fast. Hope to see you there.

What if you knew… a child dies of starvation every five seconds in the world?  What if you knew…that for every $25 donated, 100 meals would be sponsored?

For each meal packaged at Meals from the Heartland, the cost is 25 cents for the rice, soy, vegetables & vitamins, and transportation to reach those in need.  What if you knew…you could help us reach our goal of saving the life of a child?

You can make a difference… you can save a life.
