Express Your Faith Creative Arts Ministry offers Christ-centered experiences that engage hearts and minds through the arts.

 

Activities for all ages encourage creative expression as a means to glorify God, to strengthen faith in Christ Jesus, and to be led by the Holy Spirit.

Workshops

Open Art Studio
First and third Thursdays (Jan. 7 & 21, Feb. 4 & 18, March 4 (not meeting over Spring Break) and April 1 & 15), 7:00-9:00 pm,
Rm 100
Audience: Adults and high school students  
Cost: $3/night if using EYF supplies
Begin the evening with a devotion and then enjoy fellowship with other artists as you create. Watch for upcoming opportunities to serve others with your creative gifts.

Writing for a Purpose Writers’ Group
First and third Sundays (Jan. 3 & 17, Feb. 7 & 21, March 7 & 21 and April 18 (not meeting on Easter)), 11:00 am – noon, Rm 128
Audience: Adults
Share your faith through your gift of written expression. The first Sunday of each month offers an opportunity to use your gifts to serve others while the third Sunday will feature guest speakers and a focus on publishing.

Dance with Jesus – Dance as Prayer and Worship
Tuesdays, Jan. 5 – March 9, 7:00-8:00 pm, Rm 128
Audience: Adults
Be a part of this opportunity for dancers and non-dancers to experience Jesus through movement and enjoy fellowship.

Dance Lessons
Various Fridays (see dates below), 6:30-8:00 pm, Gym
Audience: Adults

Psalm 149:3 says, “Let them praise his name with dancing. . .” Join us as we learn the basics of a variety of styles of dance. Partners are recommended, but not necessary.

Family Holiday Art Workshops -

Clay Workshop with Bible Study
Thursdays, April 15, 22 & 29, 6:30-8:30 pm, Rm 102 (April 15) and
Rm 100 (April 22 & 29)
Audience: Adults and high school students    
Cost: $10
Explore how God works through us as we work through clay.
All skill levels welcome, from beginners to experienced artists.

Friday, Feb. 12: Pam Avaux and Friends
Pianist Pam Avaux and friends are back for an evening of piano music with guest vocalists as they cruise on “The Love Boat.” Bring your Valentine or the whole family for a musical journey through the decades and the ever popular “Name That Tune.”

Saturday, Feb. 20 – Chamber Chorale
Join us for a fantastic evening of music presented by the North Heights Lutheran Church Chamber Chorale from North Heights, Minnesota.

Friday, March 5 – A Journey through the Four Seasons with Emilie VanDis and Friends
Violinist Emilie Van Dis will perform, followed by a string quartet presenting Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons.” The music will be accompanied by a visual presentation of images from nature by photographer Rick McCubbin.

April  9 –  Inspiration from the Hope Prayer Garden
Join Ed Arp as we discover possibilities for designing your own biblical garden with inspiration from the Lutheran Church of Hope Prayer Garden. Learn about the biblical and historical meaning of the plants chosen for the garden, and other elements of Christian symbolism included in this sacred space. A “make and take” garden-themed art project will be offered following the presentation. There will be a supply fee $2 per person or $5 per family for the workshop.

Friday, April 23 – KarDlAlab – Experience God’s Heart through Music and Video Projection
Experience live music and videos projected on a variety of architectural surfaces in the Chapel.
