Care Ministry
Margaret Langpaul

Margaret Langpaul - Associate in Ministry/Chaplain
Teaching God’s Word and caring for others are Margaret’s main goals. Over the years, God has lovingly taught her to accept the things she can not change, and to glorify him in all she does.
Margaret grew up in Omaha, graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with honors and received her Bachelor of Science degree and Master’s Degree in school administration from that institution. In addition to teaching and working in administration through the public schools, she also enjoyed teaching piano for ten years out of her home.
In 2004, Margaret received her Associate in Ministry Certification and will soon be commissioned into the ELCA Southeastern Synod. Coursework incorporated classes from Grandview College, the Select ELCA program, and the religion department at Drake University. Additional in-depth training includes completion of one year of Clinical Pastoral Education through Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
Writing children’s poetry and listening to children’s laughter is a favorite pastime. Over the summer, Margaret spends the majority of her time in the Lake of the Ozarks, working at their family-owned resort. The rest of the year, Margaret and her husband, Roger, live in West Des Moines. They have two grown sons, Chris and Alex.
“To the world you might be one person, but to one person, you might be the world.”
